US Junior Solo Championships Trophies and Awards Bagpiping Trophies will be awarded to the Overall winner (E. W. Littlefield, Jr. Trophy); Piobaireachd winner (Clan Donald Trophy); and March, Strathspey, Reel winner (Balmoral Classic Trophy), and will become the property of the winners. Medals will be awarded to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place competitors in each event. The Overall winner receives a full scholarship (room/board/tuition) for two weeks to the Balmoral School summer session of his/her choice. The 2nd , 3rd , 4th and 5th Overall winners receive one week's tuition to the Balmoral School summer session of his/her choice. The MSR winner receives an AB4 set of bagpipes with engraved nickel and imitation ivory mounts donated by McCallum Bagpipes of Kilmarnock, Scotland. The Piobaireachd winner receives a handcrafted set of imitation ivory mounted bagpipes donated by Inveran Bagpipe Makers of Newburgh, Fife, Scotland. The 2nd place MSR winner receives a McCallum polypenco bagpipe chanter donated by Chris Hamilton, in his own words "the guy from Oakmont, Pennsylvania." The 2nd place Piobaireachd winner receives a set of studio pipes handcrafted and donated by MacLellan Bagpipes of Summerville, South Carolina. The 3rd place MSR winner receives a McCallum blackwood practice chanter donated by Pipers Cove of Kearny, New Jersey. The 3rd place Piobaireachd winner receives a bagpipe backpack case, donated by Pipers' Choice of London, Ontario. The 4th place MSR Winner receives a copy of The Cabar Feidh Collection of Pipe Music. The 4th place Piobaireachd winner receives a copy of Binneas is Boreraig by Dr. Roderick Ross, donated by Chris Hamilton of Oakmont, Pennsylvania. The 5th place MSR winner receives a copy of Scots Guards: Standard Settings of Pipe Music, volume 1 or 2. The 5th place Piobaireachd winner receives a copy of The Kilberry Book of Ceol Mor, donated by the House of Bagpipes, San Francisco, California. Drumming Trophies will be awarded to the Overall winner (David L. Peet Memorial Trophy), the MSR winner, and the Hornpipe/Jig winner. Trophies become the property of the winners. Medals will be awarded to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place competitors for each competition. The Overall winner receives a choice of a professional snare drum (Premier, Pearl, or Andante) donated by Henderson Imports of Traverse City, Michigan, and two week's full scholarship (room/ board/tuition) to the Balmoral School summer session of his/her choice, and a framed hand-made illustration "On the 8th Day God Created Drummers," donated by Susan Shegog. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place Overall winners receive one week's tuition to the Balmoral School summer session of his/her choice. The MSR winner receives a 16-ounce hand-made kilt, donated by Sandy St. James of Dumont, New Jersey. The Hornpipe & Jig winner receives a Meade ST-1 snare/tenor drum carrier, hand crafted and donated by Meade Custom Drumming Supplies of Eldersburg, Maryland. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place MSR and H/J winners each receive "The World Pipe Band Championships 2008" CD, volumes 1 and 2. The 2nd place H/J winner receives "The World Pipe Band Championships 2007" CD, volumes 1 and 2. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th place H/J winners receive two CDs: "Dawning of the Day: The St. Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band in Concert," and "The Piper's Day: The Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Queens Own Highlanders." All of the drumming competitors receive a copy of John Scullion's drum tutor, a pair of sticks donated by Sandy St. James of Dumont, New Jersey, and a pair of MCDS MC-2 snare sticks donated by Meade Custom Drumming Supplies of Eldersburg, Maryland. 2009 Memorial Scholarships: 1.
