Balmoral School Scholarships

A limited amount of scholarships are available to students on a competitive basis.

Applications for scholarships are available on request.

Criteria for selection include: competitive successes, age (preference is given to younger applicants), contributions to piping, performance experience, etc.

A letter of recommendation from a teacher is required with the application.

Scholarship awards are can vary according to talent, need, and the location of the school, usually ranging from $75-$150.

Application deadline is May 15.

Selections and notification of awards will be made by the Balmoral staff within 30 days after the registration deadline.

Balmoral School Scholarship Support

Scholarships are made possible by grants from the Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming, The Clan MacDougall Society of North America, The Sage Foundation, Bertha McDonald Scholarship (student application + sponsor form due March 15) and other contributors.

Balmoral School supporters are encouraged to make tax-exempt contributions to the Balmoral School Scholarship Fund for worthy students. Here's how you can help.


Other Scholarships and Grants

Students are encouraged to apply to other sources for scholarship assistance, such as local clan and St. Andrew's societies. For example, The New Hampshire Highland Games will accept applications from pipers and drummers in the eastern U.S. submitted by April 10.
